Central Park Region
Woodbury, Minnesota, is home to several beautiful parks and outdoor spaces, with Central Park and Colby Lake standing out as two of its most beloved destinations. Though located near each other, these two attractions offer unique experiences. Central Park serves as a vibrant community hub year-round, while Colby Lake provides a more natural retreat for outdoor enthusiasts.
Central Park: A Year-Round Community Destination
Central Park is the heart of Woodbury’s social and recreational scene. Unlike a traditional park, it is an indoor facility featuring a climate-controlled environment, allowing visitors to enjoy activities year-round. The park is currently undergoing significant renovations and is set to reopen in fall 2025 with exciting new features. These upgrades include expanded gathering spaces, a redesigned Lookout Ridge indoor playground, enhanced art displays and a brand-new banquet space for meetings, receptions and community programs.
Woodbury Veterans Memorial
The Woodbury Lions, the City of Woodbury, local veterans organizations, businesses, and local residents established the Woodbury Veterans Memorial with the goal of honoring veterans who served in the military. The American Legion Woodbury Post 501, VFW Post 9024, and Lions Club were responsible for installation.
Colby Lake & Edgewater Park: A Natural Retreat for Outdoor Enthusiasts
For those who love the outdoors, Colby Lake offers a picturesque setting with plenty of seasonal recreational activities, including fishing. Surrounding the lake, Edgewater Park enriches the outdoor experience with playgrounds, sports courts, picnic shelters and fishing piers. A wide, paved trail loop with stunning lakefront views provides the perfect walking, jogging or biking route. Visitors can relax at one of the many picnic tables and benches, making it an ideal spot for family outings or quiet reflection.
With its blend of indoor and outdoor attractions, this area of Woodbury provides countless opportunities for recreation, leisure and community connection.
