The preserve is great for hiking and walking and includes a long perimeter trail and two parallel north-south boardwalks. The perimeter trail is paved asphalt on the southern and western sides, while the northern and eastern sections have a "rustic" feel. The rustic woodland paths along the perimeter are cleared and may be wet in spots, accessible on foot year-round.
